Someone Stop Her! Main Characters: Gangchan, Na Se-young & More
Meet the cast of Someone Stop Her!: Gangchan, Na Se-young, and the housemates who turn one quiet apartment into a war zone.
The characters are the reason Someone Stop Her! works. Here is who matters, spoiler-free.
Gangchan Oh
The protagonist and the reader's entry point. Gangchan is short, passive, and non-confrontational — the kind of guy who rehearses a complaint in the mirror and then mumbles it at the door. He loves his games, his routine, and his peace. What makes him likable instead of pathetic is that he keeps trying: every chapter chips a little more backbone onto him, and his growth from doormat to someone who stands his ground is one of the series' best slow burns.
Na Se-young
The neighbor, the smoker, the storm. Se-young looks and talks like a gangster — sharp eyes, zero filter, physically intimidating — and she smokes constantly, which is what drags Gangchan into her orbit in the first place. But the series is careful with her: the toughness is armor, not the whole character. She is fiercely loyal to her people, funny in a deadpan way, and her softer moments land harder because they are rare. The "someone stop her" of the title is half joke, half genuine plea.
The housemates
Se-young does not live alone, and her housemates are not background decoration. Each has a distinct personality and her own secrets, and each complicates Gangchan's life in a different way — one teases him mercilessly, another quietly observes everything, and together they turn the apartment into a pressure cooker of comedy and drama. As the series goes on, their backstories get real page time, and the "found family" feeling of the household becomes the emotional core of the story.
Why the cast works
The magic is the contrast: Gangchan's passivity against Se-young's force, played for comedy early on and for genuine character development later. Nobody stays a one-note joke. If the premise hooked you, the story overview shows how these dynamics drive the plot — and if you are ready to start, here is where to read officially.
